Community Medical Centers receive $10-million gift

A $ 10 million office complex has been gifted to Community Medical Centers. Local real estate developers Richard and Mimi Gunner and George Andros have gifted Fresno office property valued at over $ 10 million to Community Medical Centers. The nonprofit hospital system will use the property, located on East Shaw Avenue near Fresno State, for a corporate office complex.

The real estate transaction, which involves nearly 175,000 square feet of office space covering 17 acres, amounts to one of the largest philanthropic gifts in Community Medical Centers’ history.

The Community system, which runs more than 1,000 inpatient hospital beds in Fresno and Clovis, has been looking for a place to consolidate several corporate support offices — such as finance, communications, compliance, and human resources — which are currently scattered in different locations.
