Deputy Chief Keith Foster In Federal Court

All six defendants were in federal court earlier today. Deputy Chief Foster has now been released along with co-defendant Jennifer Donabedian who faces marijuana distribution charges.

Deputy Chief Keith Foster walked into the courtroom with his head down and in handcuffs but he was the only one not wearing a jumpsuit. He was in plain street clothes, he and Donabedian must meet certain conditions including not having any contact with each other and not leave town.

Several Foster family members showed up to show their support for Keith and Denny Foster. They cried and hugged each other after the hearing in which we learned Keith Foster faces up to 45 years in prison and fines totaling to over one million dollars if convicted of all charges. Deputy Chief Foster’s niece said they’re in complete disbelief but know sometimes people make bad choices.

His attorney Marshall Hodgkins has defended several officers in high profile cases. He still had not reviewed the discovery but said Foster was very upset when he spoke with him before the hearing.

"Deputy Chief Foster is devastated. Everybody including law enforcement is concerned about his mental well being as a result of something like this."

Gerald Schwab Jr represents Jennifer Donabedian and said things are looking serious for her "We hope that doesn’t hurt her case and it gets blown out of proportion in what she allegedly did because her involvement allegedly is way less than his if she has any involvement at all."

The other four defendants will remain in custody until there’s another hearing for them next week.
