An elderly woman was taken to the hospital for observation, after a single vehicle accident in Clovis, according to police there.

In a statement, Clovis Police Public Information officer Janet Stoll-Lee said the accident happened just after 12:00PM. She said the driver, who is in her early 70’s, was heading south on Peach when she drifted into the northbound lanes.

The driver, according to police, then swerved to the curb, and took out a light pole, along with a nearby PG&E utility box.
