Exeter Police Officer Murdered

The Tulare County Sheriffs Department is investigating the murder of a South Valley police officer.

Exeter Police Officer, 31 year old Daniel Green was found dead in a Goshen home.

Deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity just before 5 pm Friday. That turned into a homicide investigation.

The Sheriff’s Department would not confirm how Daniel Green died or where his body was found.

Green has been an Exeter police officer for 10 years. There is no word if his death could be related to his work but the violent crimes unit and gang unit are helping with the investigation.

"The Exeter police chief is here in scene with us along with his fellow officers who as you can imagine are very upset at this time," Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said.

Investigators are examining the crime scene at 7278 Lickey Court in Goshen.

"As you would imagine peace officers come across a variety of different people in their line of work so at this time we are hoping to use a variety of different resources as possible to quickly identify potential suspects," Boudreaux said.
