Fresno Chaffee Zoo announces new mascot

Today the Fresno Chaffee Zoo announced its first official mascot will be Taman the tiger. The Malayan tiger will be making the rounds at the zoo this week. 

The Chaffee Zoo is home to about 1% of the world’s Malayan tiger population, with less than 500 remaining worldwide. Berani and Cinta, two of the zoo’s tiger cubs are now living at the San Diego Zoo. The Chaffee Zoo will be expanding their tiger exhibit after the African Adventure is complete.

A 10-year-old tiger from the Tulsa Zoo will become part of the tiger exhibit in the next month.
