Fresno Police to hold block parties

Fresno Police officers are reaching out to the community, by holding block parties.

The events are in partnership with Cornerstone Community Care and the Hope Coalition. Families enjoyed music, food and entertainment. Officers also talked to residents and addressed problems that often lead to violence.

"It’s going to take a community to really make a difference in reducing the violence we have in the community. By reaching out and letting them know the importance in working together and offer any services we have here to," Lt. Jose Garza, with the Fresno Police Department said.

Fresno Police hold these block parties once a month. The next one is planned in Calwa.
