Gas Prices Go Up For The Long Weekend

It’s not uncommon to see gas prices creep up the closer we get to summer.  Just four weeks ago, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the state of California was three dollars and thirteen cents.  According to GasBuddy.com the average price for a gallon of gas in California has jumped nearly sixty cents to 3.72 per gallon.

Locally, prices have taken a jump as well with some people paying as much as 3.80 a gallon.  The folks at GasBuddy.com have some tips that can help you save at the pump.  For example, look for gas stations that offer a discount to cash paying customers.  It will save you a couple of cents per gallon, but can really add up when going on a road trip.  If you are traveling across state lines, pay close attention to prices in the state you are traveling to.  Each state’s gas tax varies and it may be cheaper to fill up before crossing state lines.

In Fresno, you are looking at paying an average of three dollars and sixty-four cents per gallon, higher than the national average, at two dollars and seventy-one cents, but lower that the state’s average at three eighty-one per gallon.
