Gasquet Complex (Wildfire)

Total Fires: 6 Total Complex Acres: 1000 Total Complex Containment: 2% Cause: Lightning/Natural After sunset tonight, winds are predicted to shift and blow from the northeast. This is forecasted to be a moderate wind event for the area. The winds are expected to increase to 10-15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph. Temperatures tomorrow are also predicted to increase into the high 90‘s. Due to this wind shift, the area will experience significantly less marine influence. This weather pattern is expected to continue until Friday. Today, progress was made with line construction and securing the southern portions of the Coon and Bear Fires. With clearing skies later in the day, air assets; SEATS, (Single Engine Air Tankers), and a BAe146 tanker, are being utilized for retardant drops on the Coon, Bear and other fires within the Gasquet Complex. A Temporary Flight Restriction, (TFR) of 10 nautical miles has been established to protect the air assets on the fire. There is…
