The lucky winners are Mara Gabriellian and her fiance’ Michael Hemmerling. They got a huge return on their $ 100 investment. They won a 3-bedroom 3-bath Granville home worth $ 375,000. They weren’t there for the drawing, but arrived shortly after.
Theirs, of course, wasn’t the only ticket sold.
4,511 tickets filled the barrel. Meaning more than 4,500 people chose to make a difference in our community by helping to donate more than $ 450,000. They also had a shot at winning the home and other great prizes.
Granville Homes has provided a home-of-hope every year for the past ten years. a home generously donated with ticket proceeds benefitting ten local non profits. Darius Assemi, Granville’s president says the giveaway is a highlight. Assemi says, "This helps elevate the local non profits.. the beneficiaries. they are ten outstanding non-profits that provide food, shelter, health care and education and really above all, hope."
Among other great prizes, a two year lease of a brand new car donated by Fresno Lexus.. But the highlight, making a dream come true for one Fresno family.
Mara Gabriellian says the house is greatly needed, "It was truly relief because like I had said we’ve been having problems in the neighborhood we were in and it was coming to a head. We were either going to have to move to a rental or hopefully win the house."
The drawing is also helping the community through donations to those who need it the most.
