The Central California Auto Show runs today through Sunday. It’s at the Fresno Convention Center. Free admission to see the newest and hottest cars, trucks, SUVs and crossovers for 2015. 10 am to 7 pm today and tomorrow, and 10-5 Sunday.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Hanford. The city’s Holiday Boutique is tomorrow and Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm at the Hanford Civic Auditorium on Douty Street. Vendors, crafts, entertainment, refreshments and Santa himself will be there.
559 Brewing is hosting a fundraiser for the Poverello House tomorrow at Carmel Village of Clovis. The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 Saturday night. Live music, a silent auction, dinner donated by Bella Pasta, and, of course, plenty of 559 beer. Bring a non perishable food item or gently used clothing to receive a 1 dollar beverage ticket as well. Tickets are 12 dollars.
The Fresno State football team is off, but Fresno City College and College of the Sequoias are not. Bowl game implications are on the line when the Rams travel to Visalia to take on the Giants Saturday. Fresno City is looking to play in the State Center Bowl at Ratcliffe Stadium, but they may need to win Saturday for that to happen. Kickoff is set for 1 p-m at the Mineral King Bowl.
The Save Mart Center is the place to be for the season opener for the Fresno State Women’s Basketball team Sunday. The Bulldogs host Cal Poly at 2 pm. First year head coach Jaime White inherits a program that has had a ton of success. Fresno State is the two-time Mountain West champion, they’ve won four conference tournament titles in a row, and have been to the NCAA Tournament seven consecutive seasons.
