Local students get their water conservation app funded

An idea by a team of 6th grade students at Riverview Elementary has received some major support today.

Earlier this week, we profiled the Fab Five robotics team, and their idea for a water conservation mobile app. Today, AT&T announced it will fund the group’s project, to the tune of $ 25,000.

"We thought that ‘aww, it’s just a cool idea that we had’, but we didn’t think that it’d go this far, that we would actually get it funded, that we’d actually get the money to do this," Corben Beaty, a Fab 5 Team Member said.

Beaty says he will spend the summer collaborating with other experts, to develop the app.
