Lodge Lightning Complex (also known as Lodge LCA Fire) (Mendocino County) Started 7/30/2014, updated 8/06/2014

The fire is burning in heavy timber in the Elkhorn Ridge Wilderness and Eel River Canyon areas. The steep rugged terrain makes access difficult. Due to severe drought conditions and accessibility challenges, the fire continues to grow. Firefighters are in the process of removing dead, dry vegetation from around residences in the Horseshoe Bend area and will continue to pursue aggressive air and ground strategies.
