Mail Truck Taken on Joy Ride in Southeast Fresno

Fresno police officers say a mail carrier’s truck was stolen this afternoon near Sussex and 11th and taken on a joy ride.

According to police, the mail carrier parked the truck and went to deliver mail. When the carrier returned 30 minutes later, the truck was gone.
Officers say it was taken on a joy ride.

"Typical, what I call a stolen vehicle dump," officer Ed Rij says. "They will steal the vehicle, use it to drive away, dump it maybe a short distance away, and then leave it without taking anything."

The truck was found a few hours later near Floradora and 8th in southeast Fresno.

Police are looking for a suspect and are continuing to investigate. They say no mail was taken from the truck.
