Man arrested for drugs, stolen weapons

A Fresno man is now in jail for having drugs and a stolen gun, after speeding away from officers.

Police arrested 33-year-old Renny Saldivar around midnight last night on Fruit, near Shields in West Central Fresno.

Police say he sped away from officers, blew through red lights, and drove on the wrong side of the road at one point.  Officers chose not to chase him, for the public’s safety. They did, however, find his car abandoned a short time later. Inside, they found 1/4 pound of crystal meth, 1 lb of marijuana, and a stolen handgun.  They found Saldivar, walking nearby. He now faces several charges.
