Man Found Dead Inside Clovis Home

Clovis Police are still investigating how a man in his 20’s ended up dead inside a home on West Ellery near Cindy. Police are calling it a homicide, the victim is 22 year old Saul Ramirez. He was found dead inside the home Wednesday night. Detectives spent more than eleven hours there gathering evidence but they’re still not releasing much information. The investigation started when Clovis Police were called to the six hundred block of West Ellery just before seven. When officers arrived, they found a man’s body with a gunshot wound laying in a back room. Neighbors believe some sort of suspicious activity was happening at the house, they said police had been called out to the home several times but they don’t know who the victim is. Several neighbors reported hearing gunshots but detectives still aren’t sure if they were related to the murder. Clovis Police Spokesperson Janet Stoll-Lee said “They’re following up on a variety of different leads and they plan to talk to a number of people that they believe perhaps will know something about what transpired.” Neighbor John Cobarrubias said to feel “Very uneasy because I’ve never experienced anything like that in this neighborhood. Everything has been quiet and neighbors are very friendly.” Clovis Police served a warrant to investigate the crime scene which they say is standard procedure. Animal services was also called to the scene because there were six dogs inside the home that needed to be taken care of, they will remain at the shelter until family members can be found to care for the dogs. Police are still following up on leads and have yet to interview the homeowner.
