Mayor Swearengin presented 2016 budget to the City Council

Today, Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin presented her 2016 budget to the city council.

Swearengin says this is her first budget she’s happy about. It includes funds for adding employees and equipment to public safety, improving parks, and code enforcement.

"Last year was stable and structurally balanced but we weren’t able to add back any services. This year of course we’re stable and we’re able to add back services," Swearengin said.

The budget also includes adding to savings; $ 7 million will be put in reserves this year.
