Memorial Day

In Clovis this morning, a local ministry observed Memorial Day by holding a special event. The " carry the load " half marathon walk started at seven o’clock this morning.

Participants walked along the Clovis town trail – to the veteran’s memorial building in downtown Clovis. Organizers expected a couple of hundred people to take part in the walk.
Rene Qintero/Carry the Load: People look at it a lot of times, ‘hey! Three-day weekend!’ and they’re excited about that. Which they should be. They deserve the time off, but they’ve got to also look at the true meaning of memorial day, and it’s all about the sacrifices that were made for us.

According to "Carry the Load’s" website, four other
similar events also took place, across the country today.
