Some students received a crash course of the valley’s rich Native American history. Fresno City College held its second annual Education Conference for Native American Youth.
Students came from all over the valley to learn about the culture through art, presentations and performances. They also received a tour of the campus.
Organizers say students need to know there’s help available to them to help them succeed in school.
They also unveiled a statue paying tribute to Native Americans who helped build the valley. Organizers say Fresno City College sits on Native American land.
