LOS ANGELES COUNTY–Three active wildfires are burning in Los Angeles County, driven by extreme winds and weather conditions. Nearly 40,000 acres have burned, and it’s estimated that more than 12,000 structures have been damaged or destroyed. At least 23 people have lost their lives, and searches are continuing.

WEATHER OUTLOOK

Critical fire weather conditions will continue through the middle of the week with little relief. Red Flag Warnings are now in effect for portions of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, and these warnings continue to bring life-threatening, destructive, and widespread winds that can result in downed trees, power outages, and a high risk of large fires with very rapid spread, extreme behavior, and long-range spotting.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Do not drop off unsolicited donations to shelters or organizations, and please do not self-deploy to impacted areas. First responders need roads to remain clear, and volunteers must stay safe. Visit 211LA.org to connect with organizations that are helping in various ways. Also, visit L.A. Works to sign up to volunteer where needed. There are also lists of organizations that need your help.
