MARIPOSA — The Mariposa County Arts Council is inviting community members to participate in a brief survey to help as part of a planning process aimed at developing a potential artist-in-residency program for the Mariposa Creek Parkway. The planning process is funded by a grant from the Arts in California Parks Program.
Shaping a Residency Program
The proposed residency will offer visual, performing, literary, and traditional artists the chance to create site-responsive works that reflect and engage with Mariposa Creek’s ecological, social, and cultural landscapes. Community input will help shape the goals, structure, and overall direction of the program to ensure it meets local values and needs.
“We want to hear from you — residents, local artists, visitors, and anyone who enjoys the Parkway,” said Cara Goger, Executive Director of the Mariposa County Arts Council.
She continues, “This is a unique chance to collaboratively envision how our community can support artists, and how artists can support our community.”
The survey is available at mariposaartscouncil.org under News and Announcements and will close on May 4. All voices are welcome.
