MARIPOSA — The Sierra Artists Gallery is launching the first-ever Mariposa Paint Out, a three-day plein-air painting event set for this summer. More than 30 artists from across the region will paint live in and around Mariposa, capturing the area’s natural beauty and historic charm.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the town, observe artists at work, and pick up a free map of painting locations at the Sierra Artists Gallery (corner of Highway 140 & 6th Street). This provides a unique opportunity to experience the creative process firsthand while enjoying a weekend in the foothills.

Exhibit, Awards, & Art Sale

The exhibit runs from June 6th – 8th. On the final day, the event will wrap up with a public exhibit and awards ceremony at 12:30 p.m. at the Mariposa Government Center. Judges will award cash prizes, and attendees can vote for their favorite piece in the People’s Choice Award category.

Immediately following the ceremony, the artwork will be available to purchase during an “off-the-easel” wet paint sale. A gourmet food truck will also be on-site with refreshments.

Artists Can Still Register
