

MESA, AZ – The championship feeling is so sweet, Fresno State Baseball just had to repeat.
For a second consecutive season, and the 37th time in program history, the Diamond ‘Dogs have clinched the Mountain West title behind a 9-1 trouncing of San Jose State.
On the heels of a 14-inning marathon win against top-seeded Nevada, Fresno State followed with an offensive onslaught against the Spartans. Unleashing nine runs on 15 hits, with Griffen Sotomayor (Turlock HS), Eddie Saldivar (San Joaquin Memorial) and Lee Treviño (Redwood HS) contributing three knocks a piece.
Madera native, Triston “Murf” Gray earns tournament MVP after a dazzling performance in Arizona. Going 4-11 with a HR, three-2B and eight RBI’s on the weekend, including a pivotal 3-RBI double against Nevada in the semifinals.
