MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct the following one-way traffic control next week on State Route 49 (SR-49) and SR-140 for construction and maintenance operations. Work is scheduled as follows:
State Route 49
State Route 49 (SR-49)
- One-way traffic control from the Mariposa / Toulumne County line for utility work on Friday, May, 30th, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
State Route 140
The following one-way traffic control will be conducted from:
State Route-140
- Hornitos Road to Cathay for utility work on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Fourth Street for banner work on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Lower Trower Road to SR-49 North for slope repair work beginning Wednesday, May 28th through Friday, May 30th, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Sweetwater Creek to Savage Trading Post for bridge inspection work on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Motorists should expect 5-10 minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.
This work is scheduled to take place as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction issues.
