MADERA COUNTY — According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman in her early twenties passed away on Tuesday morning following a solo vehicle crash on Road 39 1/2, just north of Bella Vista Drive.

According to CHP – Madera Area, the crash occurred at approximately 7:25 a.m. on June 10, 2025. Officers responded to the scene and determined that the woman had been driving a green 1996 Toyota Camry southbound when she veered to the left and collided with a PG&E power pole on the east shoulder of the road. The reasons for this are still under investigation.
The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, coming to rest on its left side. Emergency responders arrived quickly but pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. Authorities confirmed that she had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
CHP officials say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be contributing factors. The incident remains under active investigation.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity, as they are waiting to notify the family.
