
The Buck Fire started on Bureau of Land Management land on 6/11/2025 at approximately 7:30pm from a lightning strike due to thunderstorm activity. It is exhibiting moderate to high fire activity. Multiple resources are on scene including a type 2 Initial attack crew, a type 6 engine, and various resources are enroute.
At this time, the Buck Fire is threatening private residences approximately 1.5 miles Northwest and 1 mile east. Live electric transmission lines are in the near vicinity of the fire. The health and safety of firefighters and the public are always the first priority. Members of the public should avoid the Buck Fire area.
Smoke may be visible from Highway 12 southeast of the community of Aragon, NM and southwest of Highway 60. Smoke-sensitive individuals and people with respiratory problems or heart disease are encouraged to take precautionary measures.
