MARIPOSA — The Mariposa County Arts Council has announced the first recipients of its Art + Community grant program, a new initiative designed to support innovative local projects that enrich community life and uplift populations through the arts.

Grants Support Local Creativity

Piloted in spring 2024 and funded by the County of Mariposa, the grant program invited working artists, groups, and grassroots organizations to propose projects that align with community goals. A panel of arts and civic leaders selected the inaugural recipients based on artistic merit, project design, community impact, and accessibility. Funded projects will take place between June 2025 and May 2026.

“We are really impressed by the quality of the selected projects,” said Programs and Projects Co-Director, Ava Burns.

Burns continues, “These projects will bring inspiration and creative opportunities to a community with deep-rooted enthusiasm for the arts. We are so proud to be able to support these artists and organizations.”
