
BASS LAKE — According to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a possible body in the water at Bass Lake. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the body of a man in his 80s approximately 15 feet from the shoreline.
Authorities Urge Caution
According to witness accounts, the man had been in the process of launching a boat when the incident occurred. The exact circumstances and cause of death are still under investigation. Authorities have not yet released the man’s identity.
In response to the incident, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public to prioritize water safety at all times. Boaters are urged to wear life jackets, follow posted speed and safety regulations, and avoid operating any watercraft under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
