VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A large fight at a party resulted in a half-dozen people being arrested early Sunday morning, Visalia police say.
Officers were notified of an altercation in the 200 block of East Sweet, near Church Avenue, involving approximately 40 people, just before 2 a.m.
Police say they arrived to find partygoers who were uncooperative and tried to block access to the backyard.
They also say that as they were trying to make arrests, some of the unruly suspects attempted to interfere.
Visalia police say the six people who were arrested were taken into custody on suspicion of resisting arrest, obstructing law enforcement, and attempting to incite a riot.
