PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A three-year-old died after falling into a pool in Porterville on Sunday, police said.

On Sunday, July 13, officers with the department, along with the fire department and ambulance personnel, responded to a residence in Porterville regarding a possible drowning.

It was determined that a three-year-old child was able to get into the backyard of the home undetected. Police said, unfortunately, the child fell into the pool.

Despite life-saving efforts, the child could not be revived and died.

This is an ongoing investigation.
