FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The former Fresno principal who was caught shoving a child with special needs on camera in June 2022 was sentenced Wednesday.
According to the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office, in June 2022, former principal of Wolters Elementary School Brian Vollhardt had aggressively shoved a student with autism down. He was eventually put on administrative leave once the situation was reported.

Additionally, court records revealed Vollhardt had other encounters with the student, like in one instance where he had pinned the student to the ground with his knee on the child’s back. The judge then ordered a restraining order on behalf of the student.
The DA announced Wednesday that Vollhardt was sentenced to one year of probation and 52 weeks of abuse counseling.
This sentencing comes after Vollhardt changed his plea in May to “no contest” on charges of misdemeanor battery and child abuse from 2022.
