7/28 6:05 PM The Mammoth fire is 50% contained and due to more accurate mapping today is approximately 2533 acres.

The fire behavior was minimal today and continues to burn in  interior unburned fuels, lava reefs continue to to be a challenge for fire fighters working on containment lines. 

Fire personnel Continue securing indirect lines, mop-up  and secure direct lines.

For tomorrow, thunderstorms with gusty outflow winds are expected with increasing temperatures and RH dropping to 20%

Strong gusty winds could pose a threat to containment lines.
