

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was found dead during a welfare check at a wildlife refuge in Merced County on Wednesday, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies, along with the California Highway Patrol, responded to a welfare check on an unresponsive person at the San Luis National Wildlife Refuge on Highway 165 at around 9:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, the sheriff’s office reported finding a man who was pronounced dead.
