

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 28-year-old man from Fresno was charged Thursday with offenses involving the sexual exploitation of minors, the U.S. Department of Justice said.
The DOJ said Miguel Angel Dorantes, or known as Miguel Castro, was charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of transfer of obscene material to a minor.
According to court documents, between Nov. 6, 2021, and May 7, 2025, Dorantes used three minors to create visual depictions of the minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The DOJ said he also provided obscene material to a minor in November 2021.
If convicted, Dorantes faces a maximum statutory penalty of up to 30 years in prison with a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison. He also faces up to a $250,000 fine for each count of sexual exploitation of a minor.
If convicted of transferring obscene material to a minor, he faces a maximum statutory penalty of up to 10 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
