VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Media personality Charlie Kirk is scheduled to appear at the Tulare-Kings County Resource for Life’s “Advancing the Mission” event, held at Visalia First Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, Sept. 2. However, Kirk’s appearance at the event has sparked controversy among activists in Visalia.
Guest speaker Isabel Brown will also join Kirk at the event. Organizers say Brown is “known for boldly addressing today’s most pressing issues from a young conservative perspective.”
According to organizers, Kirk will be featured as the keynote speaker and a new Q&A part of the event, taking questions from attendees.
Pro-choice advocates have called for community members who oppose Kirk’s pro-life commentary to join them for a counter-protest on the same day as the speech.
Critics have called Kirk’s views “extreme” and questioned why Visalia First and TKCRL have chosen Kirk as the keynote speaker at the event.
YourCentralValley.com has reached out to Tulare-Kings County Resource for Life and the organizer of the counter-protest for further comment but has not received a response.
