The Twin Fire is a lightning caused fire burning in the remote backcountry of the North Fork Ranger District on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Due to the combination of the steep & rugged terrain, lack of local resources, and higher priority fires on other parts of the Forest, Fire Managers will not be committing suppression resources to this fire. This fire will be monitored closely and the public is being asked to please avoid the fire area while the closure order is being prepared and finalized. Official closure and details should be available by Monday August 25th.
