KINGSBURG, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Kingsburg Fire Department is welcoming a new addition to its fleet later this month.
The fire department will be hosting a traditional “Push-In Ceremony” on Sept. 26.
According to Kingsburg Fire, the “Push-In Ceremony” dates back to the 1800s when fire crews manually pushed fire apparatus into the station. It serves as a symbolic tradition of welcoming new equipment into service and recognizing ongoing investments in public safety and emergency response capabilities.
The event will include the brand-new fire engine on display, fire station tours, firefighting equipment demonstrations, family-friendly photo opportunities, and a meet-and-greet with firefighters.
Kingsburg Fire says that placing this new engine into service represents a major upgrade to the department’s fire capabilities. With this addition, the department says it will now operate with two high-quality frontline engines.
The new engine will also feature a “clean cab” design, which significantly reduces firefighter exposure to carcinogens by keeping contaminated gear and equipment out of the cab.
The event will be on Friday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kingsburg Fire Station 1 at 1460 Marion St., Kingsburg.
