COARSEGOLD, Calif. – Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino is bringing the thrill of an elite-level bronc and bull riding competition to the Sierra Nevada foothills with “Rough Stock, Buck & Bash,” taking place Saturday, September 20, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The competition will feature some of the world’s top-ranked bronc and bull riders, followed by an electrifying concert by country music sensation Chancey Williams in the resort’s Outdoor Pavilion at 8 p.m.

This unprecedented event will transform the resort’s main parking lot into a championship bull-riding arena complete with 50 truckloads of dirt, welcoming 12 bull riders, 12 saddle bronc riders, two fearless bullfighters and a quick-witted rodeo clown adding to the energy. The evening’s competition will culminate in a sudden-death ride-off for the championship title and more than $30,000 in prize money.

Headlining the competition are Lefty Holman and Dawson Hay, both nationally ranked and already qualified for this year’s National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas.

• Lefty Holman, a third-generation saddle bronc rider from Visalia, CA, has qualified for the NFR four times. Holman is known for his powerful yet smooth style and has a family heritage steeped in rodeo. His grandfather was a three-time NFR qualifier, and his uncle is ProRodeo Hall of Famer Joe Marvel.
• Dawson Hay, from Wildwood, Alberta, is a decorated saddle bronc rider who earned the 2018 PRCA Rookie of the Year title. In 2023, he won the Calgary Stampede saddle bronc riding title. He continues to perform at an elite level and is headed back to the NFR this year.

Following the action-packed main event, guests will be treated to a live performance by Chancey Williams, one of today’s rising stars in country music. Known for high-energy shows and fan-favorite hits like “3rd Street” and “The Saint,” Williams and his band will keep the excitement alive under the stars in Chukchansi’s Outdoor Pavilion.
