NORTH FORK, CA – On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, just after 4:30 pm, on Road 200 near Duke Road, a Silver Sedan and a Blue Truck were involved in a tragic head-on collision.
Although an official statement is still pending, preliminary reports from the California Highway Patrol indicate that a 69-year-old woman from North Fork was driving her sedan eastbound on Road 200. As she navigated a curve, her vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic and collided with a Chevy Silverado operated by a 75-year-old man from Fresno.
Tragically, the woman did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. In the aftermath, two bystanders who arrived first at the scene rushed to assist her, but they quickly realized their efforts were in vain. They turned their attention to the man in the truck, whose injuries were severe. They could do little more than provide comfort until the first responders arrived.
Emergency responders soon arrived. The man, grappling with major injuries, was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center by a Life Flight helicopter.
Both lanes of Road 200 remained closed from the time of the incident until shortly before 8:00 pm.
