14-year-old arrested in Corcoran shooting, police say

CORCORAN, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 14-year-old boy was arrested after an investigation into a shooting in Corcoran spanning half a year, the Corcoran Police Department announced.

According to police, on March 21, just after 4 p.m., they responded to a report of a group of juveniles shooting at another group in the 1100 block of Norboe Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they reported finding multiple spent shell casings and suspected bullet holes on a vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Following a months-long investigation, detectives eventually identified one of the two suspects as a 14-year-old boy. That boy was ultimately arrested on Monday, Oct. 13, in Hanford and booked into the Kings County Juvenile Detention Center.

Investigators then served a search warrant at his home, where they reported finding two 9 mm handguns, one of which was a ghost gun, and illegal narcotics for sale.

No information regarding the other suspect involved has been released.
