BASS LAKE, CA – Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community and help the environment? You are invited to participate in the Lakebed Clean-Up Day at beautiful Bass Lake! This exciting event will take place on Sunday, October 26 at 10:00 AM, and it’s the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow residents while making a positive impact on our cherished local lake.

Bass Lake
Bass Lake water level is lower in the off season, allowing for lakebed clean-up

Bass Lake is not just a picturesque spot for boating and relaxation; it’s a valuable ecosystem that needs our attention. During times of low water levels, man-made debris becomes exposed on the lakebed. From chunks of concrete to discarded engine blocks that were once used as boat anchors, these remnants pose a risk to both wildlife and users of the lake. The mission is to safely remove these hazardous objects, ensuring that Bass Lake remains not only a scenic destination but also a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

The day will begin at the Pine Slope Day Use/Picnic Area, where volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcomed. Bring your friends, family, or even your neighbors — the more, the merrier! Before diving into the clean-up, and during the post clean up lunch, you’ll have the chance to mingle with fellow volunteers. It’s a great way to get to know those who share a passion for preserving our natural surroundings while enjoying some community spirit. Be sure to dress for the job, as it is going to be a little muddy.

This event is proudly sponsored by the Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce, Madera County Sheriff’s Office, PG&E, and Visit Yosemite Madera County. Their support ensures that we have the necessary resources to fulfill our clean-up goals and provide a great experience for all volunteers.

Join in the efforts to create a cleaner, safer Bass Lake! Together, we can protect the beauty of our beloved lake for future generations to enjoy. Don’t miss out on this chance to make a difference and connect with your community! We look forward to seeing you there! If you have any questions, email info@basslakechamber.com
