YOSEMITE, CA – The Mariposa Yosemite Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) is excited to announce the start of its 21st season on Saturday, October 25th, at 7:00 PM with a paid concert at the Fiester Auditorium of Mariposa High School. This marks the 24th year of the orchestra’s commitment to bringing captivating performances to the community.

The celebration continues on Sunday, October 26th, with a free concert at 2:00 PM in Yosemite National Park’s picturesque Garden Terrace at the Yosemite Valley Lodge. Attendees can enjoy the stunning beauty of the park while experiencing an afternoon of exquisite music.
The Concert
Featured in the concert repertoire are Rachmaninoff’s haunting “Isle of the Dead,” Rimsky-Korsakov’s enchanting “Suite from The Golden Cockerel,” and Josef Suk’s lively “Fantastic Scherzo.” MYSO Founder Les Marsden will conduct this evocative program, thoughtfully selected to resonate with the season, particularly with Halloween approaching. Each piece explores themes of suspense, danger, and the interplay of darkness with fleeting hope, making it a perfect fit for this time of year.

Tickets for the October 25th concert are currently on sale and can be purchased securely online. Advance tickets are priced at just $10 for adults and $8 for students, providing a substantial discount compared to door prices of $15 for adults and $10 for students.
