MADERA COUNTY, CA – This Thanksgiving, Madera County Animal Services is inviting residents to make a difference by fostering shelter pets during the holiday season. By opening your home, you provide a safe and loving environment for animals in need, allowing them to experience the warmth and joy of a family setting.
Why Foster During the Holidays?
Fostering isn’t just about providing a temporary home; it’s about giving shelter animals a chance to thrive outside the stress of the shelter environment. A temporary foster home offers them a peaceful space to relax, socialize, and showcase their true personalities, which can significantly increase their chances of finding a permanent family. As noted by Madera County Animal Services, fostering helps animals “blossom and show their wonderful personalities in a calmer home environment.”

Program Details
The short-term foster period is 6-8 days, aligning with the Thanksgiving holiday. Foster pet pickup appointments are available on Monday, November 24, or Tuesday, November 25. Return appointments are scheduled for Saturday, November 29, or Monday, December 1. Extensions are happily approved if you wish to continue fostering beyond December 1. This program is available exclusively to Madera County residents.
