She owned and operated a children’s clothing store, and later a floral shop—ventures that allowed her to share her eye for beauty and her joy in bringing happiness to others. Later, she worked in the home department at Gottschalks, where she continued to build lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
Throughout her life, Barbara was known for her fun-loving personality and her remarkable ability to connect with everyone she met. Her warmth, humor, and kindness left lasting impressions on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Whether she was reading mystery novels, watching classic movies and musicals, or working through a challenging puzzle, Barbara approached each day with curiosity and enthusiasm. She especially cherished time spent with friends over lunch dates filled with laughter and stories.
Barbara’s greatest joy came from the time she shared with her family. She is survived by her daughter Kayla and husband Bob Alejandre; son Marty and wife Sherry Bissett; and daughter-in-law Leslie Triptree. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Whitney and husband Vince Garcia; Heather and husband Scott Hereth; and Courtney and husband Byron Villagomez. Her legacy continues through numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives were brightened by her presence.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Roy Omer Bissett; her parents, Faye and Leon Johnson; sister Betty Johnson; brother Richard Johnson; son Courtney (Steve) Triptree; and grandsons Neal Alejandre and Joshua Triptree.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May the warmth she shared continue to bring comfort to those who loved her.
