San Andreas, CA — Effective Thursday morning (November 20) at 8 am, burn permits will no longer be required in the CAL Fire Tuolumne-Calaveras jurisdiction.
Fire officials note that cooler temperatures and recent rainfall have reduced wildfire risk in the region.
Burning will only be allowed on permissive burn days as deemed by local air pollution control districts.
Rules include burning only dry natural vegetative materials (leaves, pine needles, tree trimmings), providing at least 10’ of clearance down to bare mineral soil around a burn pile, having an adult in attendance with a water supply, and refraining from burning on windy days.
