
Edward George, 83, a Coarsegold resident passed away November 29, 2025 after a sudden heart issue.
Born in San Francisco, he was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in 1959.
Ed devoted 32 years of his life to public service as a firefighter. He began in Santa Clara County FD and later joined the San Jose Fire Department where he rose to the rank of Captain.
In retirement, Ed embraced life to the fullest as an avid woodworker, golfer and classic car enthusiast. He belonged to the The Oakhurst Road Rattlers, Kiwanis, Valley Children’s Hospital and volunteered throughout his community.
Preceded in death by his father, Edward, and mother Frances. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol George: his sister, Linda Parks: His Son, Keven George (Tammy) and daughters: Nicole Meeker (Keven), Michele Erk (Brian), and Jule Ignagni (Frank). His is also survived by his cherished 12 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.
Ed will be remembered for his generous heart, gentle humor, steadfast service and countless ways he made life brighter for those around him. His legacy endures in the family he loved and the community he served with honor.
