Request Records through Mariposa County
Vital Records may be requested in person or by mail from the Mariposa County Assessor-Recorder’s Office. Please follow the instructions included with the Applications linked below:

Mariposa County does not process online orders. For your convenience, you can process online requests through an independent company that we have partnered with to provide you with this service: VitalChek Network Inc. An additional fee is charged for using this service, and all major credit cards are accepted.
Fees for Certified Copies
Effective January 1, 2026, the fees for obtaining Vital Records, including birth, death, and marriage certificates, will increase pursuant to Assembly Bill (AB) 64 (Chapter 662, Statutes of 2025). Applications received after December 31, 2025, will be subject to the new fees.
- Birth: $29 (effective 01/01/2026: $31)
- Death: $24 (effective 01/01/2026: $26 )
- Marriage: $17 (effective 01/01/2026: $19)
