NORTH FORK, CA – The Sierra Mono Museum & Cultural Center invites the community to a lively weekend of gatherings in North Fork, featuring a Bunco night and the first in a series of traditional storytelling sessions. Both events offer opportunities to connect with neighbors, support the museum, and enjoy food, fun, and cultural enrichment.

Friday, December 12, 2025 — Bunco Night
Kick off the weekend on Friday evening with Bunco at the North Fork Rancheria Community Center. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for an easygoing night of rolling dice, laughter, and friendly competition. The event features a $20 buy-in, raffle prizes, and a provided dinner—perfect for groups of friends, families, and neighbors who want a relaxed social night. The community center is located at 56901 Kunugib Way, North Fork. All are welcome to attend; come early to get a seat and enjoy the meal before play begins.

Saturday, December 13, 2025 — Storytelling Series (Session 1 of 3)
On Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., the Sierra Mono Museum & Cultural Center will host the first of three storytelling sessions at the museum (33103 Road 228, North Fork). These gatherings celebrate oral tradition and community memory; the two additional sessions are scheduled for January 10 and February 14, 2026, also at the museum. The public is invited — admission is $5 for non-members and free for members — and light refreshments will be served.
“The coyote is coming, the coyote is coming,” cried the bear. All of a sudden there were a lot of coyotes coming. One of the coyotes was caught and… you’ll have to attend the storytelling session to find out how the story ends!
