Sonora, CA – A Columbia woman ended up behind bars Christmas night after a Sonora Police Department (SPD) K-9 sniffed out meth in a vehicle after a traffic stop.
An officer pulled over a Ford Explorer SUV around 9:27 p.m. for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as 35-year-old Annastasia M. White. According to the SPD, K-9 Ridge used his nose to sniff around the SUV and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle turned up a fabric bag containing syringes and methamphetamine; the amount was not disclosed. A record check revealed that White had two prior convictions for having narcotics, allowing for a felony enhancement under Proposition 36. White was also booked for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
