NORTH FORK, CA – The North Fork community still has time to recognize one of its own through a long-standing local tradition. Nominations remain open for the North Fork Citizen of the Year 2025, with a submission deadline of January 20, 2026.

Each year, the North Fork Boosters Citizen of the Year program highlights individuals who quietly and consistently strengthen the North Fork community. The award honors residents who give their time, energy, and leadership to improve local life, often without seeking recognition. Organizers encourage residents to take a moment to reflect on neighbors, volunteers, and community leaders who make a meaningful difference.

Nomination forms ask community members to describe how their nominee has helped North Fork and to share any additional information that supports the selection. Organizers emphasize that thoughtful details matter. Acts of service, leadership roles, volunteerism, and long-term dedication all help paint a full picture of a nominee’s impact.
Completed nomination forms must be mailed or emailed to the North Fork Boosters by January 20. Forms can be mailed to P.O. Box 357, North Fork, CA 93643, or submitted electronically to northforkboosters1937@gmail.com.
Community Celebration Planned for January 31
While nominations are still being accepted, plans are already underway for the annual Citizen of the Year Dinner and Awards Ceremony, scheduled for January 31, 2026, at the North Fork Town Hall. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
This year’s dinner will feature an enchilada meal prepared by Claudia Box, the 2024 Citizen of the Year, along with her volunteer crew. The tradition of past honorees helping serve the next celebration reflects the strong sense of continuity and service within the community.
Adding a sweet touch to the evening, members of the North Fork Women’s Club will be selling homemade desserts. Proceeds from dessert sales help support the club’s ongoing community projects and outreach efforts.
Dinner tickets are priced at $15 per person, and reservations are recommended. Those wishing to reserve seats or request additional information may call (559) 676-7766.
A Reminder to Participate
Organizers encourage residents not to miss the opportunity to nominate someone deserving. The Citizen of the Year program depends on community participation to ensure those who serve behind the scenes are recognized.
With the nomination deadline approaching and the celebration just weeks away, North Fork residents are invited to take part in both honoring a neighbor and gathering together for an evening that celebrates service, gratitude, and community pride.
