Coarsegold, CA — The Coarsegold Rodeo is excited to announce that applications are now open for its Royalty Program and its brand-new Ambassador Program, along with the introduction of a Community-Chosen Grand Marshal for the upcoming 73rd Annual Coarsegold Rodeo, taking place the first weekend of May 2026.
As preparations officially begin for this historic rodeo, the Coarsegold Rodeo is expanding opportunities for inclusion, leadership, and community involvement while staying rooted in western tradition.

New Ambassador Program Expands Opportunities
The Ambassador Program, launching for the first time in 2026, was created to provide an opportunity for young women who want to be involved in the rodeo and represent the Coarsegold community but may not be able to participate in the horsemanship requirements of the Royalty Program.
Ambassadors will serve as public representatives of the rodeo by promoting western heritage, community pride, leadership, and service. The program emphasizes confidence, communication, responsibility, and community engagement—allowing more girls to participate, grow, and contribute in a meaningful way.
“This program was designed to open doors,” organizers shared. “Not every young woman has access to a horse, but that shouldn’t limit her ability to be involved, lead, and represent her community.”
Community-Chosen Grand Marshal

In a move to strengthen transparency and community connection, the Coarsegold Rodeo is also proud to introduce a Community-Chosen Grand Marshal—a new tradition allowing the public to nominate and vote for an individual who truly reflects the heart and spirit of Coarsegold.
This initiative reinforces the rodeo’s commitment to remaining a community-driven event, honoring those who have made a positive impact and ensuring the selection process is open, inclusive, and transparent.
